The purpose and mission of the Amader Gram Breast Care Education, Clinics and Center Program is to reduce morbidity and mortality from breast cancer
and other breast diseases in the women residing in the Khulna Division of Bangladesh by a sustainable and innovative social business which:

A.  Provides education to divisional women and medical professionals through:

1.     Community activation and empowerment partnership-creating activities.

2.     Community education using local performance art & cultural presentations.

3.     Trained Family Welfare Volunteers (FWVs) and Family Welfare Assistants (FWAs) in breast health using cell phone technology with a telemedicine call in consultation service.

4.     Training of primary and specialty physicians.

5.     A breast problem telephone help-line service.

6.     A computer-based breast problem educational resource in Bangla, accessible in all Amader Gram computer training centers.

 

B.  Provides medical care for breast problems through:

1.     Locally accessible primary breast care clinics to women in villages throughout the division.

2.     A clean, quiet, and modern clinic in Khulna city offering high quality, multi-specialty excellent value specialty care for breast cancer or diseases to all women, regardless of ability to pay.

 

C.  Conducts evaluative and research activities to inform local, regional, and national policy development by investigating:

 

1.     Educational projects, clinics and center evaluations.

2.     Patient treatments and outcomes.

3.     Program personnel development and job creation

4.     Needs and cultural barriers in a population assessment survey.

5.     Measures of incidence, prevalence, morbidity and mortality from breast cancer over time in Khulna Division women.

6.     Participation in IBCRF-initiated and local researcher initiated clinical trials.

 

This enterprise and these activities together will be organized as a social business with the goals of providing these listed social benefits through financially
self-sustaining operations, which business, over time, returns to investors the capital financial investment, without providing a financial dividend.
These goals will be achieved through an Amader Gram-community partnership, through processes which increase community governance,
empower women, create jobs and increase skills of community members.
